Custom Single-Family Residence by renowned French and Interiors PPF GOUJON ARCHITECTS and built by PACIFIC PENINSULA CUSTOM GROUP, utilizes a central VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) Heating and Cooling Heat Pump system to supply 14 micro zones throughout the home. The system allows for a remote location of outdoor equipment to preserve the integrity of the architecture and landscaping while providing efficiency through the modulating system only providing heat/cool to the zones that need it.Go to link
A beautiful prefab Sierra family home designed by CH X Toby Long Design. MEG designed the T-24 multizone hydronic radiant heating as well as a forced air mini split cooling system. An underfloor crawlspace mechanical ventilation system was used to eliminate the perimeter passive vent requirement. Full plumbing design was also provided.Go to link

A magnificent estate on the bluffs of the world-famous 17 Mile Drive, designed by International Design Group. MEG drafted a T-24 radiant heating system, a cooling and dehumidification system, and a plumbing system for the house.
For this famous historic hotel located atop San Francisco’s prestigious Pacific Heights neighborhood, MEG was brought in to design a radiant heating and cooling system to be used in the guest rooms throughout. In order to maintain the original style of the property, a radiant ceiling heating/cooling system manufactured by Messana was implemented. MEG chose Absorption chillers located on the roof, which use natural gas as the primary fuel source to provide the hot and cold water.
In the World-Famous Post Ranch Inn, MEG had the pleasure to design T-24 silent forced air cooling and electric floor heating to their "Tree Houses," as well as radiant heating and cooling to the Ocean Houses on the Bluff.Go to link
This custom residence overlooking the pacific was designed by Thom Cowen and resides high on the rugged hillside above Nepenthe in Big Sur. Due to the custom curved single pane glass, a high cooling load was satisfied by utilizing a hydronic radiant cooling in the floor and custom controls that track the sun as it makes its way around the circular structure. Solar gain is mitigated from just the right amount of cooling water delivered to maintain the floor temperature.

Since 1987, MEG has designed over 15,000 radiant floor heating systems, more than any other engineering firm in the US. Over the years our design philosophy utilizing low-mass panels, condensing water heaters and smart controls has remained the same.
Over the last three years MEG has designed close to 1000 net zero energy homes. Furthermore, we have promoted the concept to architects and industry groups around the country. MEG has presented seminars on all electric net zero energy design to AIA chapters, builder’s groups, manufactures and trade associations. Monterey Energy Group has been an advocate and on the forefront of developing the Net Zero Energy all electric homes and buildings since 2005.
It has not always been the case, but today solar provided electricity is significantly lower than grid provided electricity. At MEG we offer several levels of solar energy consulting: sizing and specification (non-full design), , site surveying, economic analysis and full engineering design of solar electric as well as solar thermal for domestic hot water, space conditioning and pool heating for residential and commercial buildings.
While many of our jobs utilize the latest technology in the market, MEG still designs hundreds of conventional HVAC systems each year. All our designs our meet ACCA manual standards for commercial and residential.
MEG was originally formed (1982) as an energy efficiency consulting company. We were the third group in California to buy the State-approved energy compliance program Micropas. Each year we perform close to 1000 energy compliance jobs for architects and building designers in all 16 California climate zones. We are certified as CEPE and HERS inspectors.
